I’m in the mood to do a guest post.
Actually I’ve been in the mood for a while, just haven’t had the time to focus on it.
Been doing all kinds of research to figure out the best way to approach this topic. Not only to encourage new visitor’s to the site, but also attempt to get a nice bump in email subscribers.
Guess what? There’s quite a bit of information out there. Lot’s of stuff, and it’s hard to weed out the good from the bad.
Let me try to help.
I started composing a list of links for reference, and I thought why not share that with the visitors on my site.
I’ve updated this list of 21 great links on guest posting in 2024 to remove some older links that weren’t updated in years. Hope you all find this helpful.

Hi, Craig,
Wow! You’ve come up with a great list of resources there…Will definitely be checking Marc’s article out, sounds intriguing. I know a lot of sites accept guest writers by application, and you’ve listed out several where there are lists of these. It’s a great source, to get started. I prefer to be invited because of a built up connection/relationship but in the beginning, that’s a great way to get going, thanks for sharing those.
I certainly understand about time constraints. I’ve gotten a lot better at judging how long something will take, but it’s usually under-judged. LOL So things take longer, and then, well… I don’t get to everything I wanted to.
Fabrizio’s article title caught my eye, and will be checking that out as well.
Tremendous round up of posts, appreciate it very much. This really makes things convenient, I’ll tell ya. 🙂
Hope you have a wonderful weekend, Craig, and I enjoyed your article and will be sharing.
Take Care,
– Carol Amato

Yea, I really liked Marc’s post he had some fantastic tips. I actually learned a lot while pulling all of this together. So much useful information out there.
I think until you establish yourself, it takes a bit more work to land a guest post, as you can’t just sit back and wait for the invites to pour in. You need to spend the time researching and pitching yourself in order to land one.
Thanks for the comment Carol and appreciate the kind words. Glad there were a few posts that you found interesting
Talk to you soon.

Hi, Craig, that’s an impressive list!
I’ve only recently been reading about guest-posting so every single one of these is new to me. What a great resource. I’ve saved the list to Evernote so I can go back and refer to them when I need to. So many big names and reliable sources.
I’m going to start with the post by Uttoran Sen about opening your blog to guest posts – I don’t know this blogger but I think I should find out more about getting guest posts on my own blog before asking to appear on others.
Thanks for this brilliant list 🙂
Craig Emerson says
Thanks Donald. I thought the same thing. It’s a great list for those just getting started with guest posting. I’ve been referring to these posts quite a bit recently.
Let me know how it goes if you open your blog up to taking guest posts. If be interested in hearing how it goes for you.
Have a great rest of your weekend.

Sweet! Thanks for including me on this, Craig! 😀 I actually wrote a post in January while in Associate Editor Rant Mode that links to the post you listed here along with three other posts I’ve written on guest post pitching/querying: http://littlezotz.com/2015/01/hardass-editor/ (“How NOT to Get Your Guest Post Published” even includes screencaps from my Editor inbox! lol).
Once again: Thank you for including me. Great post!
Craig Emerson says
Hey Lauren,, thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment. I was going to start reaching out to folks today or Monday to let them know I linked to them, but you beat me to it.
Appreciate your post, some great information you had in there. And thanks for including some other posts as well.

Hey Craig,
What a treasure trove of posts here on this awesome topic. I think I’ve read just a handful of them but you’re right, it’s hard at times to revert back to posts we’ve saved and be sure we can put our finger on them.
Does this mean you’ll be getting out there and guest posting now? You know it’s a great way to get in front of a new audience. I don’t do a lot of it myself but have been doing about one a month this year so far. It is time consuming because we always want that post to be awesome and hopefully impressive. It takes me forever to put one together though.
I’m going to be looking over some of these posts that you shared so thanks again for putting this together. I know that was time consuming to not only find the posts but create this one for us.
Great job Craig and I’ll be sure to share it as well. You have a great week and hope yours started off well.
~Adrienne
Craig Emerson says
Thanks Adrienne! I’ve been wanting to guest post for a few months now, just haven’t been able to dedicate the time to it. I’ve read elsewhere that you should really focus your efforts on guest posting, even if that means ignoring your blog for a bit. So to answer your question, yes I’m hoping to give it a go.
There really is some good information here. I definitely learned a lot form each of these posts.
Thanks for the kind words, and thanks for sharing as well.

Hi Craig,
Its always pleasant knowing that there are resources out there that easily make one to blog better. I consider the list of links posted here as invaluable resources – at least to the guest author!
The compilation has some of the most powerful blogs I have accessed and its helpful accessing more!
A good post I must say!
Attention: I couldn’t download the Guest Post link Content download because the pop-up page doesn’t show any form where I could sign-up and fill my email details! Am I missing something!
This comment was shared in kingged.com as well.

Hey Sunday, thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment. Appreciate the kind words. There’s some very good information here, and I have to say I’ve learned a thing or two from each and every one of these posts.
Thanks for pointing out the issue. I’ve checked into this with multiple browser’s, and it appears to be working fine for me. What browser were you using?
BTW – thanks for sharing on Kingged!

Hey Craig,
Good post here. I should do a post strictly about guest posting, BUT, have a guest post pitcher already tackling that topic in the future, so I decided to steer clear from that topic for the moment.
Anyhow, I’m a big believer in guest posting and I love it. However, now I’m really picky WHERE I guest post but it’s definitely an awesome strategy to use.
Good stuff here, Craig.

Since I’m barking up the guest posting tree, I thought it would be a good idea to share some of the research I had done. I’m thinking of doing a case study on the results I get from my guest posting adventure. Taking it from the new bloggers perspective who’s never done it, so they can get a better feel of the results.
Thanks for the comment Andrew.

Hi Craig,
You really have created a great list of links!
I love it. 🙂
There are some articles that get my attention. I will visit them immediately.
Also, I have read Neil Patel post. It was a really great one. 🙂
Thanks for sharing, Craig.
Start to share it right now. Have a nice day!
~Nanda
Craig Emerson says
Thanks Nanda. There really is some great information here. It was fun pulling all of this together. Well technically I already had some of these bookmarked when I came up with the idea for the post. I thought it would be a cool thing to share all of this information.
Don Purdum says
Hi Craig,
Interesting post! I want to add that I think in the future I will be interviewing bloggers who ask me to contribute to their sites as much or more than they are interviewing me.
I have realized that I have written some solid content but it wasn’t for the audience on the blog of that blog. Either I have to get more specific information on any given audience so the content is tailored appropriately to them or I don’t write the blog if they are not a good fit for my message.
Great post again Craig!
Have a great week.
~ Don Purdum
Craig Emerson says
That’s great advice Don! I’ve been spending a whole lot of time researching other blogs to guest post on. It’s really difficult trying to fight the right fit for your message while ensuring there will be people reading it. It’s a lot harder than I thought, than again perhaps I’m just being overly picky.
I’ll remember your words, something else to keep in mind during my research. Appreciate that.
Have a good week Don, and thanks for the comment.
Bonnie Gean says
Hi Craig,
Wow, that’s one heck-of-a list there for guest posting. I haven’t done any guest posting this year. I did a few last year. I’m having a hard time posting on my blog while I am preparing three new products. The time constraints are murderous!
By the end of June, I should have more time on my hands to devote to guest posts. I have several people asking if I want to write for their blogs. At least there is “pending” interest. 🙂
I’m not sure how soon I can check out the links you provided, but I’m glad to have them. Thanks!
Have a great week!
– Bonnie
Craig Emerson says
Good for you Bonnie! I’d take that “pending” interest any day.
Lot’s of good information in these links, although you’ve probably got all that mastered since you’ve done guest posting in the past. I definitely learned a thing or two with all this information.
You have a great week as well.
Jane says
Hey Craig,
That’s truly an awesome list here. I see that there are all high quality posts on a topic that is very close to my heart – guest blogging!
I used to be a very active guest blogger a couple of years ago. In fact, I was able to push my blogs off the ground just via guest blogging and blog commenting. Guest blogging not only made me and my blog popular but also gave me SEO advantage.
Now I am not doing guest posting due to time constraints, but I am having plans to do it later this year.
I love to read tips on guest blogging and I am sure this list is going to be awesome. I surely need to bookmark this post, or download the post – in my case, I do pay attention to my bookmarks, but downloads could be forgotten.
Thanks for the awesome share Craig. Have a great week!
Cheers,
Jane.
Craig Emerson says
Thanks Jane, appreciate the kind words!
There are really a ton of useful tips here, and some very good strategies that I would have never thought of if I hadn’t stumbled across these posts. I thought they were too good not to share. I’m glad you are more organized when I am when it comes to bookmarks. I seem to have them all over the place and can never seem to find what I’m looking for.
Thanks for the comment!

Hey Craig,
Now this is what I needed! there ain’t nothing like a roundup like this that shows up at the right time.
A part of my plan for this year was to do guest posts and I’ve been following the advice of many that have been doing it for a while. I’ve read a couple of these posts you’ve listed and found more that I need to read. This is definitely a power house of guest post topics that I will dive into!
Thanks for sharing! Have a great rest of the week!
Craig Emerson says
Thanks for the kind words Sherman, glad you found some of these helpful! I read each and every one of these as I was pulling this list together, and there’s so much great information here. Now I just need to put my plan to action!
Have a great rest of your week Sherman, and appreciate the comment!

These are some great sites for getting links from high PR sites. Google has stopped updating pagerank for sites, however, getting backlinks is still important. They increase your site’s credibility and authenticity. The more the backlinks you can get, the better. Thanks for sharing these sites.
